HYDERABAD: The Wakf Board is all set to put all efforts to get back its encroached lands and also lease its property.

The Telangana State Wakf Board members met on Monday. After the meeting, Board chairman Mohammed Saleem said, “We have set some agendas to work towards generating maximum income and to retrieve our encroached land by issuing letters signed by the DGP, and with some backing from Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

Our aim is to lease the 30 government-identified properties in Wakf’s name at the earliest so that we can generate maximum income for Wakf.”

The Board also took the decision to reappoint some retired Wakf officials who are under the age group of 65, as it believes they have deep understanding of Islam and the Wakf, which comes from experience.
