HYDERABAD: A 33-year-old software engineer in Hyderabad who had been in a financial crisis for months live streamed the sexual act with his wife for money, without her consent. The man had initially planned to earn money working as a male escort.

The accused techie, a resident of Chintal in Jeedlimetla area, has been arrested by the Cyberabad cyber crime police and has been sent to judicial remand.

Though his wife was also earning, the techie was not happy with the money. He was also committing adultery, said police.

"In November last year, we received a complaint from a working woman stating that one of her friends living in Kerala had informed her about a video that surfaced on the internet in which her sexual act was caught, but the man in the video was not visible," said Cyberabad Cyber Crime ACP S Jayaram.

Jayaram said it was established, after collecting all technical evidence, that the accused techie had registered himself on a porn site which would enable him to earn money by live streaming videos. "He managed to record the video through his laptop’s webcam. The woman did not grow suspicious, as a movie was playing on the laptop screen," the ACP said.

"The evidence established that the techie had been doing this for around six months before his wife complained. Based on the IP address of the video origination, clips and pictures were recovered from the techie's personal laptop and mobile, we arrested him. He has been sent to judicial remand," ACP S Jayaram informed.
