Sikhs celebrate Baisakhi on grand note

HYDERABAD: Recitation of Gurubani kirtans by renowned Ragi Jathas (preachers), taking out of a huge colourful Nagar Kirtan (holy procession), exhilarating and breathtaking display of Gatka (martial arts) skills by youths, serving of Guru ka Langar (free food) to all devotees marked the 318th Khalsa Panth Foundation Day celebrations, popularly known as Baisakhi festival. 


The festival was celebrated on a grand scale by members of the Sikh community with gaiety and devotion at Gurudwara Saheb Ameerpet here on Thursday under the aegis of the Prabhandak Committee Gurudwara Saheb Ameerpet. 


Hundreds of Sikhs and devotees of other faiths participated in the Vishaal Deewan (congregation) which began at 11 am and continued till 4.30 pm. In the evening a colourful Nagar Kirtan was organised.
