Depressed over living separately from his wife, a cab driver from Rangareddy district ended his life in Hyderabad on Friday.

HYDERABAD: Depressed over living separately from his wife, a cab driver from Rangareddy district ended his life in Hyderabad on Friday.

The deceased T Mahender Reddy, reportedly left a note behind alleging harassment by his in-laws. According to Saroornagar police, Mahender, a native of Keshampet village was working as a cab driver in Hyderabad. In September 2016, Mahender married his relative Sravanthi without the knowledge of their parents and were living together.


In January, Sravanthi went to her parent’s home and did not return. Later, Mahender learnt that her family did not allow her to return and also brainwashed her to not visit him as he is addicted to bad vices. Despite various attempts to solve the issue, Sravanthi was reluctant to live with her husband

. Depressed over this, Mahender allegedly hanged himself from the ceiling at his house on Thursday. Based on a complaint from his brother, a case has been registered under Section 174 of CrPC, police said.


In another incident, a 17-year-old intermediate student committed suicide for failing in five subjects in first year. The student S Narasimha Rao of Alwal, was studying M.E.C.

After the results were out on Tuesday, he got depressed and avoided his friends. When his parents were out of town, he hanged from the ceiling.
