HYDERABAD: Seeing the positive response from the public to the inspections of hotels and restaurants which are maintained in unhygienic conditions, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will continue their inspections to book the erring hoteliers who are flouting norms.
The GHMC has initiated special drives on hotels and restaurants keeping in view the prevailing unhygienic conditions in their premises which leads to health hazards.
GHMC commissioner B Janardhan Reddy conducted a meeting with officials of Veterinary wing at GHMC head office. He said there has been good response from citizens about raids and inspection of hotels and restaurants and directed them to take all precautionary measures while conducting inspections and to impose penalty with transparency.
The Commissioner said that inspections should be conducted by a lottery system in which they pick up one of the hotels and also by involving AMOHs, police, HMWS&SB and various government heads of departments concerned. The officials must take appropriate precautions while preparing Haleem through Bhattis for the ensuing Ramzan.
