NAGARKURNOOL : Rajesh, the prime accused in the sensational murder case of contractor Sudhakar Reddy, who is undergoing treatment for burn injuries at Apollo Hospital was arrested by the police on Thursday. Sudhakar’s wife Swati, who was in love with Rajesh, helped him murder her husband and disposed his body in a secluded place about two weeks back.
The case, however, became sensational after it was revealed that Rajesh planned to undergo a plastic surgery to look like Sudhakar. Earlier versions mentioned that Swati has sprayed acid on her lover’s face so that he could surgically alter it to look like her husband’s. But according to new reports with police, Rajesh allegedly burnt his face himself on the cooking stove. ‘He ensured that only his cheeks are hurt and not his eyes, ears or nose,” said a police official.
Rajesh was arrested immediately after his discharge and taken to Nagarkurnool police station. During interrogation, he told police that the duo injected an anesthetic onto the victim’s neck and hit him with an iron rod, killing him on the spot. The police are now investigating Naresh, who supplied the anesthetic to Rajesh. Naresh works as an operation theatre assistant at Yasodara Hospital.
The police are also searching the victim’s house for further clues. Meanwhile, Swati has been lodged at Mahbubnagar jail with ID no 678. She reportedly came out for breakfast, lunch and to cut grass, the work allotted to her in the jail. She also, reportedly, did not interact much with fellow prisoners.
