Thirteen youngsters booked for drunken brawl in Hyderabad

Gachibowli police on Friday registered two cases against 13 youngsters of two groups on charges of attempting to murder.

HYDERABAD: Gachibowli police on Friday registered two cases against 13 youngsters of two groups on charges of attempting to murder. The two groups quarrelled over a petty issue while consuming alcohol and ended up in attacking each other with deadly weapons.

According to police, at around 6 pm on Thursday, one P Sateesh Kumar (21), along with his friends Mahesh and Sreenu went to a wine shop at Kothaguda and while consuming liquor behind wine shop, had a petty altercation with a waiter, Narsimha.

Meanwhile, two others, Ellesh and Vijaya Kumar, also went there to consume liquor and interrupted Satheesh and his friends. Later, some of their friends reached the place and pacified the youths, and everybody left the spot.

After sometime, Mahesh and his friend Pochaiah went to Alsabah Hotel and called Ellesh and Vijaya Kumar demanding an apology from them. Hotel owner Khaleel interfered and beat them up. Police came dispersed the mob. The victims did not relent and called their friends to gather near Vaddera Basthi in Gachibowli to beat Khaleel. Khaleel too gathered his friends.

The two groups indulged in a fight with knives, sticks and stones. Cases under Section 307 (attempt to murder) have been registered against those involved in the incident.
