Techie, advocate, four realtors held for gambling in Cyberabad

Villa owner V Vijayalaxmi (50) has been operating a gambling den for the last six months since her husband died, police said.

HYDERABAD: A woman techie working in US, an advocate, four realtors and two others, who were playing cards keeping large amount of money at stake, at an upmarket villa in Narsingi- were apprehended by the Cyberabad Special Operations Team sleuths on Saturday on charges of gambling.

Villa owner V Vijayalaxmi (50) has been operating a gambling den for the last six months since her husband died, police said.

Vijayalaxmi’s family friends and close associates visit the house frequently, and gambling activities are organised.

The other accused, N Madhavi (35), a techie working in the US has come to her in-laws in Madhapur, was a family friend of the organiser, while another person advocate S Sobhamechalam was also her relative. 

The other persons Ch Venkateshwarlu, G Krupakar, T Rajashekar were the business partners of her husband while P Narender Goud and K Ramesh were close associates of the woman, the police said.

Meanwhile, the police seized Rs 77,090 cash, eight mobile phones and some cards from the villa and handed over them to the Narsingi police for further action.
