HYDERABAD: Chevella MP Konda Vishweswar Reddy along with local Corporator Jagadeeshwar Goud launched a project to clear Horseshoe weed (Gurrapu Dekka) from Kaidammakunta lake at Hafeezpet on Sunday.

The weed was spread across the 15 acres of the lake causing breeding of mosquitoes. Residents have long complained complained about mosquitoes and the spread  Reddy is getting the cleaning done with his own money through his Justice Konda Madhava Reddy Foundation (KMRF) by using an innovative solution.

We have started with this lake and if successful will replicate the work across 60 lakes in the constituency. We will convert this place into a beautiful recreational place for locals with fencing and a pathway around the lake, complete with parks, chairs and sufficient lights , Reddy said.
