Hyderabad woman accuses husband of recording nude videos of mom, sister

A woman techie from Hyderabad lodged a police complaint alleging that her husband had installed cameras in her maternal home and acquired nude videos of her mother and sister for extortion bid.

HYDERABAD: A woman techie from Hyderabad lodged a complaint with the Cyberabad cyber crime police alleging that her husband had installed cameras in her maternal home and acquired nude videos of her mother and sister, besides her private moments, and is attempting to extort money from them.

The woman (26) was married in early 2016 and has been living with her husband at her maternal home. After few days of marriage, the woman stated that she was harassed by her husband for silly reasons.

The techie had allegedly installed cameras in the house secretly to record the movements of his wife, her mother and younger sister. He used to listen to their conversations and shared them with his father and brother. He then started threatening her to give money to clear his debts but she did not pay any money, the woman stated in her complaint.

Further, she told police that her husband later went to Norway in connection with his work and after coming back recently, he started demanding money from her to clear his debts and threatened to upload videos of her mother and sister on internet if she failed to give money.

Based on her complaint, the police had registered a case under sections 506 of IPC and section 67 of IT Act for investigation.

A cyber crime officer from Cyberabad commissionerate said the accused was detained and questioned in that regard, but he claimed innocence and said that he did not install any cameras.

However, his laptops and mobile phones have been sent to Forensic Science Laboratory for analysis to find if the accused had deleted any videos from the devices. Based on the FSL report, further action would be taken in the case, the officer said.
