Class VIII pupil ‘insults’ national flag, booked

 A Class VIII student who allegedly insulted the national flag in a photo on social media has been apprehended by Nandigama police of Cyberabad commissionerate. 

HYDERABAD: A Class VIII student who allegedly insulted the national flag in a photo on social media has been apprehended by Nandigama police of Cyberabad commissionerate. 
The student had on Friday posted a profile photo on Facebook in which he was seen to be allegedly tying his shoelaces by placing his foot on the national flag. The incident came to light on Tuesday.
Nandigama SI C Hari Prasad Reddy said the boy (14), a resident of Veerlapally village, was studying in a private school. 


A villager who noticed this alerted the police and lodged a complaint on September 23 and on the same day, the boy was taken into custody and his mobile phone was seized using which he had uploaded the picture.A case has been registered against the boy under section 153B (Imputations, assertions prejudicial to national-integration) of IPC and section 2 (insult to indian national flag and constitution of India) of Prevention of Insult to National Honour Act and produced the boy before Juvenile Justice Board. 
The boy’s phone has been sent to Forensic Science Laboratory for analysis, said the SI.
