Plotter against VC visited University of Hyderabad on March 15

Speaking to Express, well-placed sources said that Prudviraj was in the university as recently as March 15 this year.

HYDERABAD: Ankala Prudviraj, one of the former University of Hyderabad students arrested by the Andhra Pradesh police for plotting to assassinate university vice-chancellor Prof Appa Rao Podile with help from Maoists, was a regular visitor to the university even after he dropped out of his integrated masters course in political science of the university in 2013 when he was arrested by the police for assisting a Maoist leader’s wife to get admitted to a hospital in Khammam, it is learnt.

Speaking to Express, well-placed sources said that Prudviraj was in the university as recently as March 15 this year. He used to meet some of his friends on the campus regularly. He is said to be a member of the Ambedkar Students Association (ASA) when he was a student at the university. However, when contacted, Dontha Prashanth, a senior leader of ASA, said that he could not remember anyone by the name of Ankala Prudviraj being a part of the ASA.
