HYDERABAD: A 9-year-old girl child, who was allegedly being abducted by a worker at an exhibition at Lothkunta in Secunderabad, was rescued by local people on Sunday. The kidnapper was caught and handed over to Alwal police who registered a case of attempt-to-kidnap against him.

Anees Khan (43), a resident of Kishanbagh in Rajendranagar, works as a sweeper at the exhibition ground in Lothkunta. He is married and has two children. As his wife deserted him, Anees had been living alone.
On Sunday, Anees saw a girl playing at the exhibition and beckoned her.

He offered to buy her an ice cream and took her along with him. The girl panicked and started screaming. People there caught Anees and rescued the girl. They beat him black and blue before handing him over to the Alwal police. Alwal inspector V Srikanth Goud said, “Anees claimed that the girl reminded him of his daughter and wanted to buy her an ice-cream but locals misunderstood him.”

Based on a complaint given by the girl’s parents, who also work at the exhibition, Anees was booked for attempt to kidnap. Further probe is on to find out the facts.”
