White i20 car mystery: Police teams sent to three states to match fingerprints

Special teams from three Commissionerates have been deputed to different states to trace the suspects.

HYDERABAD: The i20 car and the unidentified suspects involved in as many as 10 house break-in offences in different parts of the city are giving a tough time to police personnel from the three Commissionerates in city.

Special teams from three Commissionerates have been deputed to different states to trace the suspects. Teams have gone to different parts of Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan to verify the fingerprints of suspects. Results are awaited.

“In Tamil Nadu, the fingerprint data is online, but the data at other places is still manual, due to which it may take at least a week to get the reports. We suspect that the gang is from MP or UP and has a criminal past,” investigating officials said.

The gang moving in the white car had struck in ten locations in different parts of the city. They operate only during day hours and target locked houses, whose entrances were clearly visible from the road. They have also not taken any precautions to conceal themselves from the CCTV cameras.

“It was evident that they did not had any fixed targets and struck randomly. To sensitise citizens, we are advising them to leave the door curtains outside the door covering the locks, to prevent being noticed by such gangs,” officials added.
