A 35-year-old constable deputed to the City Security Wing and posted at the residence of former DG, RP Meena, allegedly attempted suicide by shooting himself with his colleague’s AK 47 rifle.

HYDERABAD: A 35-year-old constable deputed to the City Security Wing (CSW) and posted at the residence of former DG, RP Meena, allegedly attempted suicide by shooting himself with his colleague’s AK 47 rifle at Prashasanagar in Jubilee Hills on Friday evening. Though it was initially considered to be a weapon misfire, a seven-page suicide note was recovered from the premises.

The bullet pierced through Kishore Babu’s chest and exited from rear. He was admitted to a nearby private hospital, where his condition is said to be stable. However, due to the injury near the chest, he has to undergo a surgery, said sources. A seven-page suicide note purportedly written by Kishore was found, in which he had written to his father detailing about his family problems. It was learnt that Kishore’s wife had been pressurising him to buy a bike and a laptop for their children. Jubilee Hills Inspector P Chandrashekar said the weapon used for shooting was recovered and the case is under investigation.

RP Meena said he was shocked on hearing bullet sound and came out of the house and found Kishore on the ground. “Kishore is a CSW constable and posted at my residence for the 15 days.  We found a lengthy seven-page suicide note in which Kishore wrote about his  family problems,’’ Meena said. Around 5.30pm, as Meena was supposed to leave for airport, the AR constables posted at his house, came out of their room leaving the weapon inside.

Meanwhile, they heard a shot and rushed to the room, where they found Kishore in a pool of blood. Meena also rushed to the room and directed other men to shift him to the hospital. It was also found that Kishore had a conversation with a person for around 20 minutes, before he attempted suicide.
