HYDERABAD: Over a hundred students of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Hyderabad (JNTU-H) staged a demonstration at the university’s main gate here on Wednesday demanding that the university allow students with insufficient credits to appear for the  advanced supplementary examination.
Students who have been protesting since Tuesday approached the vice-chancellor on Wednesday. “We have submitted a representation to the VC.

He has given positive assurance but we cannot be sure of anything till there is an official word on it,” said Md Sohail Uddin, a third-year student. The fate of over 7,000 students in colleges affiliated to the university hinged on the VS’s decision, he said.

It may be recalled that students and the administration have been at loggerheads over the credit system ever since it was launched. In 2017 about 14,000 students were faced with detention for shortage of credits.

Meanwhile, students threatened that if the advanced supplementary exam are not conducted, they would launch a massive  protest.
