A tale of two artists

HYDERABAD: The ongoing art exhibition ‘Echoes’ at Dhi Art Gallery, Ameerpet showcases the opuses of two artists Bhaskar Vadla and Murali Chinnasamy. The artworks are in different media of brass and colours. What combines the oeuvres of the two together is the symphony that flows through the finesse of their crafts while originating from two really different realms: one bleak the other one with the hint of brightness.

The opus of Murali titled ‘Penetration (Thought & View) showcases a parallel of light and darkness that coexists in harmony paving way for each other for the music of the lines and dots to flow and create a symphony shaping up perhaps both thought and vision deep inside the layers of the conscious mind. It’s evident that his works are a result of the tectonic shift in his emotions. He carries the same forward in other works that make the viewer decipher the similar connotations from what he creates.

Bhaskar Vidla’s works leave much for the imagination to take its own course as the set of untitled artworks sit together in a cluster pasted on sand-colour paper. The works thus painted are semi-abstract with the similar colour palette. Another set of artwork by him on wood done in brass complements the previous collection. There are figures of animals in brass etched on the metal tactfully pasted on dark wood. It’s not just the finesse that catches the eye, it is the entire energy that balances the group of artwork actually makes the beholder awestruck asking for more.

The exhibition is on till July 31.
