Hyderabad High Court seeks details of aid given to NSG commando
HYDERABAD: A division bench of the Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday directed the Centre and State to submit details regarding sanction of financial assistance and other benefits to Kanagala Sriramulu, a 37-year-old former commando of National Security Guard (NSG), who was crippled badly in the terror attack on the Pathankot Air Force base in Punjab last year.
The bench granted two weeks time for submitting the details before the Court. It is a Constitutional obligation to recognise services of such heroes, the bench observed.
The bench was dealing with a PIL case which was taken up suo moto based on a news item published in The New Indian Express on August 29 this year, wherein it was reported that Sriramulu was unable to walk, talk freely or perform anything on his own after the Pathankot incident.
