Hyderabad: Anti-Corruption Bureau finds Rs 50 lakh worth gold, Rs 20 lakh worth sarees at Purushotham Reddy’s residence

HYDERABAD: The Anti-Corruption Bureau has reportedly found huge amounts of cash, gold and crore of rupees worth wealth in the Sagar Society residence of suspended HMDA planning director K Purushotham Reddy. The official has been under the scanner for amassing wealth illegally.  “During searches, we found diamond-studded gold ornaments and silver ornaments worth Rs 50 lakh, Rs 1.05 lakh in cash, sarees worth Rs 20 lakh, foreign liquor worth Rs 70,000,” said ACB officials. They also claimed to have found demonetised Rs 500 notes worth Rs 9,000, 501 US Dollars and 265 Dirhams. 

Purushotham Reddy, who is currently in ACB custody, allegedly confessed to having these properties at his residence. Based on his confession, the ACB officials conducted searches. However, the agency officials could not get any documents related to immovable properties. Reddy will continue to be in ACB custody till February 28.
