Hyderabad’s adrenaline junkies enjoy a mid-air treat

A Class IX student who likes adventures decided that he would start his Sunday “from a height”. “I came here with my cousins and my father.

HYDERABAD: After organising helicopter rides for people in the city last May, enthralling many who cherished the experience, the Department of Tourism is organising a three-day para motoring experience for people on the sidelines of fourth state formation day celebrations.
At the cost of RS 2,500, people in the city can drive up to the Bison Polo Grounds in Secunderabad and enjoy a whole new experience for five minutes.

A team of 10 expert pilots who represented India at the World Para-motoring Championship in Thailand will be at the grounds giving people the much-needed security and also the enjoyable experience. Some of those who took the ride on Sunday morning were in awe. First timers were awed by the experience, which took them to a height from where they could see the surroundings of the Bison Polo Grounds.

A Class IX student who likes adventures decided that he would start his Sunday “from a height”. “I came here with my cousins and my father. We all wanted to experience this,” said Varun Alok, breathing heavily after he landed. This is similar to paragliding, but is powered by a motor which the pilot attaches to his back and they navigate up.

“I could see the metro rail tracks, a little bit of the undone works. It was similar to a drone going up and zooming out, just that I was also up with it,”added Varun.  He along with two other cousins spent `2,500 each for the experience.  The three-day para-motoring event is being organised by the tourism department in association with M/S Vertical World and those interested can have the experience between 6 to 11:30 am and the second session will begin around 4:30 pm.
