HYDERABAD: While the world is celebrating Mother’s Day, in an unfortunate incident in Meerpet, a woman killed her two infant sons on Sunday and consumed sanitiser in an attempt to end her life.
According to the police, Nenavath Bharathi, 25, took the gruesome step after a petty fight with her mother-in-law in the afternoon. The fight broke out after Bharathi took objection to her mother-in-law playing with one of her children. Her in-laws who came to visit their son Naveen on Saturday were offended by this and called Bharathi’s parents to sort out the issue.
While Naveen was busy sending off his in-laws and parents, Bharathi called him inside and told him that she had drowned the infants aged one year and one and a half years in a bucket filled with water. Even as Naveen was in shock she consumed sanitiser, saying that after her death he could marry another woman and lead a happy life. He rushed the children and Bharathi to the hospital where the doctors declared the infants dead.
