As part of Chellanam model tourism village project, financial aid to construct houses will be provided to 226 fishermen families. A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting convened by the District Collector and Dominic Presentation MLA on Wednesday.
496 houses have been identified for the scheme. 10 per cent of the houses has been demarcated for the widows and the handicapped. Rs 2.5 lakh will be paid to each families which possess 2 cents of land. The first instatement will be paid during the time of the demolition of the existing house, the second instalment will be paid during the construction of the house and the third will be paid after the completion of the construction.
