The Kaniv Charitable Trust, the Indian Psychiatric Society and the district’s Department of Health, will jointly organise a two-day seminar for the volunteers serving in the mental health sector.
The seminar will be held on September 28, 29 at the Ernakulam General Hospital.Programme convener Dr Thomas John said that, the seminar will be beneficial to those who run mental health institutions under the Kerala Registration of Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centres 2012 Rule.
Ernakulam DMO Dr Junaid Rahman, Dr S D Singh, Dr Aniyamma George, Dr C J John, Dr Kuruvila Thomas, Dr P V Xavier, Dr P A Sheriff and Dr Thomas John will present papers on mental health.
Advocates Ramkumar Nambiar and Litto Palathinkal will present papers on the legal aspects of protecting the mentally challenged.
