In an attempt to protect their occupation and environment, the All Kerala Dheevara Sabha (AKDS) will organise a vehicle rally. The rally will commence on Monday at North Paravoor and conclude at Arayankaav on Thursday. A declaration of rights will be made after the rally.
“The fishermen are not against development. But the development activities in the coastal area have caused unemployment and loss of livelihood of several people. The compensation for the Vallarpadam project is also pending,” said Dheevara Sabha central area chairman V K Ramachandran and Convenor P K Karthikeyan at a press meet here.
Kerala Dheevara Sabha has raised 30 demands including the control of coastal area encroachment and immediate stoppage of development activities which hamper their occupation and environment.
