AIMS Receives 'Best Hospital' Award

The Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) and Research Centre has received the ‘National Healthcare Excellence Award 2013’ for the best hospital in the country.

The Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) and Research Centre has received the ‘National Healthcare Excellence Award 2013’ for the best hospital in the country.

The award, instituted by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) is in recognition of the exemplary efforts made by the hospital towards the ‘betterment of healthcare’ and provision of efficient and timely healthcare services to people.

AIMS pioneered liver transplantation in Kerala in 2004. The total number of liver transplants conducted at the hospital have crossed 280, inclusive of 26 cadaveric and 254 live-donor liver transplants.

AIMS is also conducting a successful renal transplantation programme. So far, the hospital has been able to offer renal transplantation services to more than 400 patients.

The neuro-immunology unit at the hospital has a comprehensive testing facility for auto-immune neurological disorders under a trained auto-immune neurologist.

The hospital has also established many centres of excellence, including Centre for Cancer, Neurosciences, Orthopaedics, Behavioural Sciences, Solid Organ Transplant, Laboratory Medicine, Digital Health, Digestive Diseases, Plastic, Reconstructive and Micro-vascular Surgery, Endocrinology, Diabetes and Podiatric Surgery, and Women and Children’s Health.
