Protest march taken out

Urging the State Government to chart out new action plans to contain the increasing number of crimes and sexual harassments against women, Aluva chapter of the All-India Democratic Women’s Association took out a protest march to the office of the Rural SP on Thursday.

Hundreds of women participated in the march, which started from the premises of Aluva Municipal Town Hall. A police team, led by Aluva DySP R Salim, blocked the march by putting up a rope cordon.  The march was inaugurated by district secretary K K Shilaja. District president Soni Komath presided over the function. State Executive member P S Shyla, central committee member M C Josephine, district secretary Henny Baby and area secretary Sasikala Rahim attended the protest march and spoke on the occasion.
