The Ernakulam Additional Sessions Court on Wednesday dismissed the bail pleas of two accused in Nedumbassery human trafficking case.
The Court dismissed the bail pleas of second accused Sethulal, of Ashan Nagar in Kodungallur, and fourth accused Shaji, of Vallivattam in Thrissur. District Public Prosecutor M A Joseph Manavalan submitted that the accused had played a major role in facilitating human trafficking. They were also accused in a case related to forging fake passport.
The victim was taken with a fake passport from Kochi to Muscat, and was then taken to other Gulf countries. Later, she was brutally sexually exploited, the prosecution said.
As per the case, the woman travelled on a fake passport and got trapped in the sex racket in the Gulf. She then returned to Mumbai, where her forged passport was seized.
