The call centre of Childline, an agency which works in the area of child protection, will be centralised soon, and all calls will be attended by the regional office in Chennai. Usually, calls made from landlines are attended by the respective district centres in the state.
All the calls made from cellphones are attended by the centre in Thiruvananthapuram and the cases are referred to the respective district centres.
But once it is centralised, all the calls will go to the Chennai regional office, said sources. Call Childline at 1098.
