A total of 36 police officials serving in the immigration wing of the Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) were transferred to various other places on Friday.

The transfer notices have been handed over to one DySP, 10 Circle Inspectors and 25 Sub Inspectors.

Police sources revealed that the transfer is not part of any disciplinary action and is done due to the Intelligence Bureau taking over the operations of the immigration wing.

“Since the Intelligence Bureau has transferred its officials to CIAL, we decided to pull back our officers from there. Once the Intelligence Bureau takes over the entire operation, all other officers of the Kerala police would be moved out,”sources said.
