‘Exotic Dreams’ is an exhibition with a difference. The sketches and paintings displayed at Rositta art gallery at Fort Kochi are the reflection of the camaraderie of 11 facebook friends. The artists familiar with each other through the virtual world, who shared their ideas on art, finally met some months back. It was then the idea of an art show sprouted in their minds.

From the sketches of familiar figures to the celebrated paintings of Raja Ravi Varma, the exhibition is an amalgam of many genres. The show-stealers of the show are caricatures done with minute detailing. The works are simple that can be enjoyed by all.

The water colour landscapes of Kochiite Abdul Salim, Rafeeq Babu from Vazhikkadavu and Shameem from Alanalloor, oil posters of Davichi Suresh from Kodunagalloor, pencil sketches of Faisal Mohammed and M R Santhosh from Palakkad, three-dimensional sketches of Riyas Rahman from Thiruvananthapuram, acrylic works of Praveesh I C from Thriprayar, oil paintings of Renjith Panayara, colour pencil sketches of Kalesh Ponnappan from Alapuzha and pen drawings of Vava Lijesh are the 136 works displayed.

Getting inspiration from their first experience, the artists are gearing up to conduct more shows throughout the state. The exhibition will conclude on January 30.
