Panel to analyse MP fund-utilisation

The four-member Parliamentary Committee which arrived in the state to analyse the utilisation of the MP funds allotted to various schools has commenced its tour in the district.

The committee was accompanied by Chalakudy MP K P Dhanapalan visited Aluva SNDP School where construction work is presently being carried out with the help of the fund. A sum of `25 lakh had been allotted to the school by K P Dhanpalan from his MP fund.

The committee members visited a number of schools from Alangad to Paravur.

A handful of technical experts from the Centre are also accompanying the committee on the tour.

Advocate Abdul Muthalib, Municipal chief engineer, assistant engineer, Municipal secretary, vice-chairperson Lisy Abraham, various standing committee chairpersons, including V Omana and M Radhakrishnan, were also with the officials during the trip.

The committee later held discussions about its findings at a meeting held at the Bolgatty Palace here.
