Project to spread e-literacy to begin Saturday

The training programmes to convert the state into fully e-Literate one will commence on Saturday, the 104th birthday of K N Panicker, who was instrumental in Kerala achieving cent percent literacy. The project will be flagged off by Justice V R Krishna Iyer on June 1, 10.30 am, at Ernakulam government conference hall. The programme which will be concentrated on eight Panchayat s (Koothattukulam, Payipra, Vazhakulam, Choornikara, Chengamanaadu, Kurukuti, Nelikuzhi) will end in 33 months. E-literacy programmes will also be conducted in 100 panchayaths this year, on an experimental basis. The pilot project would last nine months. The project will be led by P N Panicker Foundation with the support of other public organisations in villages and panchayats
