Puttu has always been the favourite breakfast dish of Malayalis across the world. Various combinations, stuffing and mixing makes the steamed rice cake with coconut more delicious. Cheenavala Restaurant of Hotel Yuvarani Residency hosts a Puttu Festival that has some speciality preparations like Earchi Puttu, Chakka Puttu, Puttu Biriyani and Avil Mix Puttu.Kappa Puttu - grated kappa, grated coconut and salt mixed and steamed in a puttu vessel is a tasty dish that go well with beef, pork, and chickpeas curries. Another delicious item is Erachi Puttu, a non vegetarian delicacy. Mixture of rice flour, meat and masalas are the main ingredients of Erachi Puttu.
Puttu Biriyani is another item prepared with chicken or beef, masalas and boiled egg.
The festival offers a combination of non vegetarian choices like Duck, Chicken, Crab, Prawns, Chaala, Ayala, Beef and Karimeen which will be served along with a portion of Puttu. Three varities of puttu, Ari puttu, Chembavari Puttu and Chiratta Puttu are there in the menu.
