Anoop Jacob: Extend Metro to Mulanthuruthi

Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, Anoop Jacob has written a letter to the Chief Minister, requesting that the Kochi Metro rail be extended to Mulanthuruthi. He said that such a demand has been placed to ensure that the people residing in the eastern areas of the district will also be able to reap the benefits of metro rail. “The decision regarding the extension of Metro from Tripunithura to Petta has already been taken. At this juncture, people of districts in Kottayam and Idukki can also reap its benefits, if it is extended to Mulanthuruthi”, he said.

Anoop Jacob said  once the terminal comes into existence in Tripunithura, the need of land acquisition for Railway line to Mulanthuruthy would hardly arise. “The railway line can be laid along the existing one, he said. The Minister pointed out that with the development of the area, travel to areas like Kanjiramattom church, Mulanthuruthi Mar Thoma Cathedral, Chottanikkara temple and Tripunithura hill palace will be smooth.
