Paramedical courses inaugurated

Additional District Magistrate  (ADM) B Ramachandran inaugurated the commencement of the paramedical courses for the present academic year at Lourde Hospital in Kochi on Thursday.

The Lourde hospital has been conducting 19 paramedical courses over the years. The ADM also distributed certificates for students who passed the courses in the previous year.

According to officials at the hospital this year, they have seen an increasing number of students opting for paramedical courses from various parts of the state. Nearly 10 lakh students opt for such courses across the country every year.

The courses which are offered by Lourde are Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology(DMLT- 2 years),Diploma in Medical Records Technology(DMRT- 2 years ), Diplomas in In Dialysis Technology(DDT- (one year & one year training ) In Neuro Technology (DNT- 2 years & 6 months Training )

In Operation Theatre and Anaesthesia Technology (DOTAT- 2 years & 6 months Training ),BSS Master Diploma Courses (2 years) and Master Diplomas in Perfusion Technology and Diplomas in Cath Lab Technology, Echocardiography and Cardiac Technology,  Critical Care Technician, Radiology and Imaging Technology,Hospital Front Office Management,  CSSD Technician

 Endoscopy Technician,Diploma in Dental Technician, Pharmacy Assistant, Nursing Assistant, Ayurveda Punchakarma Nursing & Yoga and also diploma in Physician Assistant.

Also, the Hospital is providing one year Part time inservice courses such as Master diploma in Human Resource Management and Master diploma in nursing administration.

According to experts in the field, such courses are mandatory in the modern technology driven medical world.

Besides being a financial benefit for the country, these courses open better job opportunities for students to work in foreign countries.
