Release of new Malayalam movies in your homes

Watch newly-released films in the comfort of your homes. Watch also films which are waiting to get an opening in the conventional theatres.
This is not a pirate’s offer, but a novel initiative of channel7music.
com, which could be launched on Vishu day. It facilitates online release of Malayalam movies through a dedicated portal for which you will have to pay a charge.
When launched, this can indeed break the backbone of the piracy scourge. CEO of channel7music Joshy Job said: “It works purely on the concept of a theatre. There will be a charge for viewing films, like taking tickets in movie halls,” he said. There will be fixed timings with four shows a day.
As the reach of the internet is worldwide, those interested across the globe can watch movies online at the same time.
“This venture would be helpful for hundreds of Keralites living abroad for whom opportunities for watching a new Malayalam film would be rare,” Joshy noted.
Kerala Film Producers Association general secretary Sasi Ayyanchira, said, “for long we have been discussing the concept of home theatre. It will help new producers who are struggling to survive in the film world. But it will affect drastically the satellite rights rates.”
To watch the new flicks online, one has to log on to channel7music. com and click on ‘Cinema Theatre’. After completing the simple registration process, the customers could get user IDs and passwords.
There will be separate log-ins for the film producers. The film producers will take the final call on the rates and number of shows and also the country where the film could be released.
Now, a studio with a demo page has been uploaded on the website and the viewers can watch trailers to decide whether to watch a movie or not.
The film buffs can make payments through debit cards, credit cards and topup cards. “It is my dream project and I have been working on this for the past one year.
This initiative will help in tackling piracy. No one who uses the portal can copy or download the film. And if anyone indulges in illegal downloading, that person can be tracked through the IP address,” Joshy said.
