Want to fulfill your curiosity about the advance made in defence research? Head for the Marine Drive ground where you can take a peek into the technologies, arms, missiles, vehicles, aircraft developed at the laboratories under the Defence Research Development Organisation.
‘’The three-day exhibition brings together the defence industry, academia, researchers and the public at large,’’ said the organisers of the expo.
Themed ‘Self-Reliance in Defence Technologies - Challenges and Opportunities’ the exhibition also helps Kochi steal a spot on the map of defence exhibition venues. Usually, defence expos are held in Delhi or Bangalore. Defence Food Research laboratoryproducts and SONAR- technology developed through defence research have been displayed at the exhibition.
“We only had a vague idea about our defence system but now I have got a better picture and many doubts have been cleared,” said Anju, a literature student. “The exhibition tries to break down the critical and complex notions of the public on the defence
technologies. We wanted to motivate the young scientific community and inspire them to take up careers in defence laboratories, industries and technological field,” said DRDO scientist Sameer Abdul Azeez.
