The UDF Government is trying to sabotage the pro-poor development initiatives of the LDF Government, said Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan.

He was inaugurating the southern region rally organised by the LDF, seeking the resignation of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy for his alleged links with the solar case accused, here on Friday.

“People are struggling because of inflation. But the government which should protect the people are acting as if it is blind. At the same time the chief functionaries of the government have enough time to help the fraudsters”, VS said.He pointed out that the last LDF Government had achieved unprecedented success in several sectors.

“But the UDF is destroying all the projects. The Chief Minister is not interested in solving the genuine issues of the people,” VS said.

He also added that the Chief Minister should not forget the instances where senior Congress leaders like K Karunakaran, A K Antony and K K Ramachandran Master resigned when courts made adverse remarks against them.  “But, unfortunately Chandy is sticking to power. This is shameful. The government should make clear its stance on the allegations raised by government chief whip P C George,” VS said.  Senior LDF leaders including Vaikom Vishwan, C Divakaran, Aanathalavattam Ananthan, N K Premachandran and P C Thomas spoke on the occasion.
