City may play host to British art exhibition

After the biennale, Kochi is likely to get an opportunity to play host to HomeLands exhibition, an initiative of the British Council. Homelands is an international touring exhibition of paintings showcasing more than 80 works by 28 leading modern and contemporary artists of the UK.

Seeking facilities for setting up a venue in Kochi, British Council director (South India) Paul Sellers recently visited  the city and held discussion with the authorities. Durbar Hall Gallery is an ideal venue for the exhibition,  the British Council authorities opined. “Kochi Corporation and the district administration have expressed their willingness to cooperate with the proposal,” said Lalithakala Akademi secretary Sreemoolanagaram Nagaram Mohan.
