Capturing the essence of Malabar

Malabar is a land known for its ritualistic arts, sprawling forts, historic locations, palm-fringed beaches and rustic villages.

Malabar is a land known for its ritualistic arts, sprawling forts, historic locations, palm-fringed beaches and rustic villages. Saji Chunda, a shutterbug enamoured by the beauty of the land, has been travelling far and wide across the land for more than a decade, and has come up with a photo exhibition that includes all the quintessential features of the land. ‘Soul of Malabar’ photo exhibition at Durbar Hall Art Gallery is a visual journey through the lives and landscape of the place.

Saji’s photos have captured the myriad moods of Malabar, including the theyyams, the famous art form of Northern Kerala, the lush green and the cultural ethos of the land. Saji whose photographs has been featured in many leading travel magazines is a recipient of the State Photography Award.

The timing of the exhibition that is on till Wednesday is between 11 am and 7 pm.
