A diabetic awareness medical campaign was organised by Ernakulam Medical Trust Hospital in association with Southern Railway (Ernakulam division) at the Ernakulam Town railway station.
The prime motive of the campaign was to provide general awareness to the public about diabetes. A total of 15 staff members and two doctors were available for consultation. There were 3 counters, for checking the blood sugar level and for consultation.
Hundreds of people got their blood-sugar level checked. Two emergency cases were reported at the camp and they were referred to the hospital. Seven patients were referred with one month’s diabetic check-up package valid up to December 14.
