Naad Bhed: Two finalists from Kerala

Two finalists from Kerala - Mahadevan S (Carnatic vocal) and R B Ramjay (mridangam) - have been selected for ‘Naad Bhed’, the classical music reality show that is being conducted jointly by Spic Macay and Doordarshan.

The finals being held in Mumbai are being aired on Doordarshan from November 12 to 23, at 7.15 pm.

The two finalists from Kerala were selected in the semi-finals held in Chennai. Twelve participants were selected for the semi-finals based on the quarter-finals conducted in Kerala in the third week of October 2013.

Doordarshan is broadcasting the performances across the country. Regional rounds of competition were conducted across Doordarshan’s 20 regional kendras.

All these rounds culminated in the national finals, the telecast of which has begun on DD National Network.

Legendary maestros of Indian classical music including Prof T N Krishnan, Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma, Begum Parween  Sultana, Vidwan T V Shankarnaraynan, Pandit Hariprasad  Chaurasia, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and Vidushi Vedavalli form the judging panel for the finals.
