In a move to create environmental awareness and to instil the love of nature among children, the Science Club of Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Tripunithura, on Saturday, conducted the 5th Earth Care-2013-’Neeradham’, an inter-school competition.
The event was held at the Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Layam Road campus.
Teams from 14 schools participated in the event. The competition which was held for students of classes VI, VII and VIII comprised of three events- eloctuion, scitoon and quiz. Dr Anil Kumar, Scientist at Centre for Marine Living Resources and Ecology, was the chief guest of the day. Ridhira of Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya, Kakkanad bagged the first palce in elcoution.
Tom Johnson V and John Thampi of St Peter’s Sr Secondary School, Kadayiruppu, bagged the first position in quiz whereas Prabhath and Athul of the Mahathma Gandhi Public School, Ambadimala, won the first place in scitoon contest. The Earth Care ever-rolling trophy was bagged by The Delta Study, Fort Kochi.
