The Ernakulam District and Principal Sessions Court on Wednesday granted anticipatory bail to the accused who allegedly assaulted a traffic warden.

District and Principal Sessions Court Judge P Ubaid granted bail to Vinosh Varghese on executing a bond of Rs 50,000 on his own surety. He was asked to surrender before the court.

After surrendering, the police had been ordered to produce him before the court within six hours. In the report filed by the police at the court, it was stated that there were contradictions in the statement given by the eye witness.

The witnesses were people who were familiar with the victim. The investigation carried out with the assistance of the cyber police revealed that these persons were not present at the spot where Padmini was allegedly assaulted by Vinosh. The police in its investigation could not find any involvement of Vinosh in the case.
