Kidney patient seeks financial aid

Babitha Jacob, 26, of Keezhumurry, Muvattupuzha, has been suffering from acute kidney ailment and seeks financial aid for her kidney transplantation.

Babitha, who had been facing kidney problems for the past 20 years, was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease stage-5. Currently, she is undergoing treatment at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences.

She has very less blood flow and is under heavy injection dose. Her family had been trying to find a donor for the last two years, but failed to to find anyone. It has now been decided to transplant her mother Susan Jacob’s kidney on Babitha.

The procedures in this regard are going on. It is impossible for the family to afford the treatment expenses as the operation itself would cost around Rs. 6 lakh.

They had been struggling to find money for medicines, with the injections alone costing around Rs. 20,000 per month. Her father P M Yacob is also suffering from illness. His account number at the State Bank of Travancore is 57034723064.
