Kalamassery police on Wednesday arrested a man posing as a doctor and running a clinic at Manakkottam Road, Elamakkara.
The police arrested Mohandas, 40, of Thoppil House, Thatayil, Adoor, in Pathanamthitta.
According to the police, they arrested Mohandas on the basis of a complaint.
“Mohandas was running a clinic named ‘Brain Bridge’ where he was ‘treating’ mentally-challenged people. Mohandas does not have any qualification to practice medicine. He took nearly `14 lakh from a Thiruvananthapuram native for treating his mentally-challenged daughter promising to cure her within six months,” a police official said.
However, the father of the girl found that Mohandas was not giving her any proper treatment.
