Vinosh Varghese, the accused in the case wherein a woman traffic warden was assaulted while on duty, alleged that the victim has  approached his family seeking `10 lakhs for making compromises in the case. However, Padmini, the victim, said the charge made by the accused was a part of a conspiracy hatched by him with police support.

Vinosh was speaking to reporters at a press conference held at Ernakulam Press Club on Thursday. He said he was not accused in any case and false reports were given against him. “I did not do any thing wrong and is not involved in any criminal case. In fact, there are 15 cases against the traffic warden and we have the details of three cases. We are being threatened by the goondas assigned by the traffic warden. The allegations are affecting my export business. I was granted bail as the police and court were convinced of my innocence. She is conspiring against me by misguiding the media,” he said.

Padmini denied the charges and said she never made any communication with the family of the accused till now. “They are influential people. They have many to help them, including police officials. But, I still believe  that I will get justice,” she said.
