They're coming in hordes to INK a pact with Kochi

Not just Anand, a bevy of unconventional creative people have reached Kochi to attend ‘INK2013’.

‘INK2013’, often dubbed as India’s TED, will be held in the city from Friday to Sunday. People from several walks of life, including many who have been recognised for their extraordinary feats in life, will address a packed audience here.

The theme of this year’s event is ‘All that Matters’. Living up to the theme, the topics of discussion range from ‘Make agriculture sexy’ to ‘There is no free will but you have a choice’.

The lineup of speakers - which includes acclaimed director Anand Gandhi, ‘Shruthibox’ fame composer Shankar Tucker, Grammy winner and celebrated graphic designer Stefan Sagmeister, PR guru, who designed strategies in the presidential race of Barack Obama, Roger Fisk, Director of MIT Media Lab and board member in a number of eminent organisations, including ‘Creative Commons’ and the ‘The New York Times Company’, Joichi Ito; senior producer of ‘MTV Desi’ Shruti Ganguly, singer Usha Uthup and actress Isha Sharvani -- sets the tone for the three days ahead.

A bunch of people, who are known for their own unconventional creativity and dogged dedication for a better cause, are headed down to Kochi for the conference.

They include 19-year-old Param Jaggi, who was listed in the Forbes ‘30 Under 30: Energy’ list for his work in green-technologies, 17-year-old artist Aisha Chaudhary who overcame an immune deficiency disorder and a predicted life expectancy to become an accomplished artist, and the CNN Hero of the Year 2012 Pushpa Basnet who set up a home in Nepal for children who once lived in prisons with their incarcerated parents.

Along with live streaming, ‘INK Live’will allow audience to interact with these speakers.

Workshops by Nokia, Autodesk, MIT Media Lab Levis, Amsterdam School of Creative Leadership and PitchCraft are also in the pipeline.
