A one-day seminar on ‘Amrita Gericon-2013’, organised by the Department of Geriatrics of Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, was held here on Saturday.
Prem Nair, Medical Director, inaugurated the seminar. Varghese Punnoose, Head of Department (Medicine), Christian Medical College, Vellore, delivered a talk on ‘Dementia, delirium and depression: A practical approach’.
Prabha Adhikari, former HoD (Medicine) of Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, and Shivakumar, Professor of Geriatrics, Madras Medical College, delivered talks on rehabilitation, nutrition, mobility issues in the elderly.Pratapan Nair, principal of Amrita School of Medicine; George Paul, HoD, Geriatric Department; Priya Vijayakumar, Geriatrics Department, AIMS; Ramkumar, Professor of Palliative Department, AIMS; and N N Prem spoke on the occasion.
