

Taxio, claimed to be the first radio taxi service in Kerala, was launched by Transport Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan in Kochi. TAXIO is a start up venture of young people who are qualified in business administration, logistics and information technology. According to promoters, they joined hands to provide support eliable, safe, affordable and efficient transport service as well as creating employment.
Team Taxio comprises KRISERV with Vijay Nair as its managing director supported by Anjana Balachandran, Sandeep Bhaskar, Adarsh Unnithan, Peethambaran, Suresh and Naufal.
“The control centre tracks, monitors and locates vehicles round the clock using satellite linked GPS system. The system provides a dynamic platform which is scalable and capable of automatically locating and dispatching the nearest available cab to the customer thereby minimizing the waiting duration and fuel consumption,” they said.
“Taxio customers need to pay only for the distance and time the vehicle is utilized by them. For any trips used within city limits return charges are exempted irrespective of how short the trip may be, be it 20 km or 2.5 km.-. In our system, the customer can always get an estimate either by calling the control centre or by visiting our website. The minimum charge starts at `90,” they said.
Taxio supports all women initiatives. “We already have cCabs that are driven by women. Shortly, women will drive a sizable number of TAXIO vehicles,” he said.
The company has plans to start operation in Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode soon.
